Amidst the return of veteran X-Men actors from the Fox era in major upcoming projects like Doomsday, Sink’s presence underscores Marvel Studios' new direction: laying the groundwork for a younger team of mutants with a long-term vision.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has previously revealed plans to position the X-Men as the leaders of the next saga.
