The Creator of Fairy Tail Is Working on a New Manga Project and Calls It a Tough Competitor!

Over time, the series became one of the most popular manga for young audiences in the last two decades; although the main story concluded in 2017, the author delighted fans with unexpected sequels and spin-offs: Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest and Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia. Now, Mashima is preparing to surprise us with something entirely new.
Hiro Mashima is creating a brand-new project.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his work, the mangaka shared a message on social media confirming that he is already developing ideas for a new project. Most interestingly, however, he acknowledged the rival his new work will have to face: Fairy Tail itself.
Mashima is well aware that readers expect him to create something on par with the adventures of Natsu, Lucy, Erza, and their friends—a formidable challenge.
